Terracotta World Ltd’s trading is covered by the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 and more recently, The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Purchasing from us should be an easy and stressless experience. Articles can be added to and subtracted from your shopping cart before the final purchase, all prices include VAT at 20%. Postage and packing is added on the checkout page when you click on ‘Calculate Shipping’ and enter your delivery postcode. The cost is determined by the shipping weight of your order and the delivery method we will use to get your goods to you. If you would like us to calculate the total cost of your order, we can and send you a Paypal invoice for the amount, it does not commit you to buy. If you are unsure of the quality, texture, colour or any other aspect of our products, you can purchase a sample (for certain objects) at reduced charge, standard postage rates apply. You can cancel your order with us at any time for a full refund subject to the following conditions;

  1. The order has not been shipped.
  2. The order is not deemed to be a special order

Orders are normally shipped in 36 – 48 hours unless the order is deemed a special order.

Your order may not be deemed cancellable if it has left our premises, in which case the cost of return of the order shall be met by the purchaser. In this case the goods must be returned unopened in the original packaging before a refund will be issued.

If upon receipt of your goods you decide they are not for you then please contact us by phone 07547 870428 or by E-mail to sales@terracottaworld.co.uk stating the reason/s why you are unhappy with your order. If you wish to return your order you may do so within 28 days of receipt for a full refund of the cost of the goods excluding your shipping costs.

If your goods arrive damaged then contact us asap and we will take up the matter with the couriers. Although we try our hardest to package goods to the best possible standard, NO responsibility is accepted for any goods damaged on an international delivery. All deliveries internationally are on the basis of Incoterms CPT (carriage paid to), our responsibility for the state of the goods ends when they leave our premisies, if you wish to protect your purchase it is up to the buyer to arrange Goods in Transit insurance. All international orders are on the basis of Incoterm DDU (delivered duty unpaid) so the courier or shipping agent will contact you to collect any excise duty or tax due when your product enters your country.

We will not be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control, such as problems with manufacture, shipping delays and other unforseen port or handling problems in foreign lands. We will not be held responsible for damage to cargo by container loading mis-handling or other third party negligence. We are not responsible for problems with manufacturers products especially where the goods do not meet the expectations of the client or ourselves. We strive to bring you the best products at a reasonable price at all times and fully realise that defects do occasionally occur but as we only sell what others produce, it is not possible or cost effective to test every single article that leaves our premises and leave the quality control to the producers. Clay is a natural product so sizes, shapes and colours of the products can vary, water content of the clay can make the finished product vary in size by up to +/-5%, please be aware of this.

Special Orders

If you require an item that is not normally stocked by us then this will be deemed to be a special order. A non-refundable deposit of 10-20% will need to be paid before the order can be processed, this is to cover our costs in part for ordering from the supplier and transport costs. We reserve the right to vary the cost of the item ordered if unforseen costs are incurred such as Peak Season Shipping Supplements or if haulage or container costs increase beyond what can be absorbed within normal trading conditions. It may also be necessary to vary prices due to changes in the exchange rate due to currency fluctuations. Once a special order has arrived at our depot payment must be made within 14 days or goods and deposit will be forfeited. It is assumed that a buyer has read and understands the terms and conditions of buying from us for a special order of goods if this has been done without use of the website.

If any special order arrives damaged or broken, it may only be possible to refund for the damage and not replace, especially where an order has been shipped from a distant destination.

Please read the description of the product you wish to purchase. Be aware that by buying a product for a certain purpose is up to the customer, it is the customer who determines that the product bought is suitable for the purpose they put it to and not us the seller. For instance, if we call a certain product a tea cup, it is up to the purchaser to decide if it is suitable to have boiling water poured into it, not us.
